Criteria
- Please note that only articles relevant to addiction and recovery will be accepted and Addictionology reserves the right to refuse articles for publication.
- If you work in any of the helping professions (such as the fields of psychology, social work, counselling, psychiatry etc.) you are invited to submit academic articles that relate to addiction and recovery.
Guidelines
- Articles and stories should consist of between 1000 - 2000 words. Longer ones will be considered but the above word count size is preferred.
- You are free to submit articles and stories anonymously.
- All articles and stories can contain an author biography at the end of the article/story if you do not wish to remain anonymous. This should contain:
- A description of who you are
- Contact details (website or email) if you wish readers to contact you directly. If you do not wish to be contacted directly by readers Addictionology’s details will be provided for comment. These will then be sent to you to reply as you wish.
- Addictionology reserves the right to publish articles in the Newsletter issue that is most compatible to the nature of that article and dependant on the deadlines of the publications.
- Articles are to be written in an academic manner. i.e. Please do not speak in the first person “I”.
- Articles are to be referenced using the APA referencing style.
- Please do not use foul language or any swear words as these will not be published.
- Please do not mention treatment centres/organisations/individual therapists by name as these will not be published.
