The octopus is an amazing creature! Because it has no cartilage in its body it can take on many forms and mould itself to fit through any shape. It’s like an aquatic shapeshifter! Well addiction is very much the same as it can present itself in a variety of ways and take on several forms.
When we think about addiction the most common things that come to mind are drugs and alcohol. However addiction can appear in many different ways in many different people. Addiction is not limited to drugs and alcohol but also appears in many other behaviours which include: -
Gambling
- Sex and/or pornography addiction
- Love and/or relationship addiction
- Eating disorders /overeating
- Compulsive shopping and spending
- Excessive working
- Technology addictions
- Drug addiction and/or alcoholism
